Getting started on Social Media

Okay, so I don’t need to convince you, you know that your customers are all online. No matter the industry our customers are all the same. They research you before they trust you. Any business large or small needs to have an online presence other than their website. Companies need to be engaging and be accessible to make money and find new customers.

Step 1: Call us!
But seriously, $0ci@L is here to help you along the way so you can focus on delivering a great customer experience. That is after all, what keeps your customers coming back and singing your praises.

If you prefer to go DIY, here are some starters:

  • Time and money
Set aside time to focus on your social presence. Don’t be fooled you will need a budget to send your message and watch your audience grow.
  • Know your audience
Understand who you want to target and get some idea of where they are.
  • Choose your platform
Your customers will not look for you on every channel. Don’t try to be everything to everyone. Start off with Facebook, see how it grows. You can progress to other channels as you get the hang of things and you see where your customers prefer to engage the most.
  • Get your creative right
First impressions count. Start with your profile and header.
Is it clear and easy to read?
Does your imagery clearly show what you about and what you do?
  • You can’t control everything
Understand from the start that it’s not always going to be easy and people will say what they feel. Be ready on your side for the worse case.
  • Don’t start a conversation and walk away
Be ready to engage, listen and learn. Comment and acknowledge, even if when it’s hard to hear.

Most important thing to do in the social space is to be human!
